Why this list matters

The lowest-turnout constituencies are typically dense urban ones — Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, parts of Delhi — and Jammu & Kashmir constituencies during periods of unrest. Urban apathy is a long-running concern in Indian politics: cities with educated, connected electorates often turn out at lower rates than the rural seats they criticise. Low turnout can favour parties with the most committed voter base, since they're the ones who show up.

"Lowest turnout" here is filtered to constituencies with valid electors and votes-polled data on file.
