The 1977 Lok Sabha (Parliament) election in Maharashtra was held to elect Members of Parliament (MPs) from 48 parliamentary constituencies in the state. Indian National Congress emerged as the leading party, winning 20 seats. Bharatiya Lok Dal came second with 19 seats.
A total of 28,856,991 electors were registered to vote across the state. Of these, 17,404,823 votes were polled, resulting in an overall voter turnout of 60.3%. The average victory margin across all constituencies was 63,712 votes, with the closest contest decided by just 165 votes and the largest margin reaching 191,601 votes.
