The 1971 Lok Sabha (Parliament) election in Bihar was held to elect Members of Parliament (MPs) from 53 parliamentary constituencies in the state. Indian National Congress emerged as the leading party, winning 39 seats. Communist Party Of India came second with 5 seats.

A total of 31,019,951 electors were registered to vote across the state. Of these, 15,186,628 votes were polled, resulting in an overall voter turnout of 49.0%. The average victory margin across all constituencies was 47,286 votes, with the closest contest decided by just 206 votes and the largest margin reaching 129,906 votes.

How Lok Sabha Elections Work in Bihar
